The causes of muscle cramps may be due to overusing a muscle, low levels of electrolytes such as magnesium, potassium, or calcium, pregnancy, dehydration and so on.

Home remedies for muscle cramps

Stretch the muscle: stretch the cramped muscle and gently rub and massage it to make it relax. When a muscle cramp hits, stop doing the activity that’s causing it and stretch it out by contracting the opposing muscle.

Massage the Muscle: Use a roller or simply your hands and gently massage the muscles to loosen them up.

Warm compress: Heat application is one of the effective remedies for muscle cramp. It can help soothe the pain and to loosen up the muscle. Apply a heating pad or a warm towel directly to the cramped muscle to relieve the pain.

Apply Cold: Apply an ice pack on the cramping muscle. It is another great way to treat muscle cramps.
