It is characterized by redness and itchiness in private parts, that makes an uncomfortable feeling to the affected person. Individual who sweat alot and who have a skin condition called eczema are more likely to get this disease.

It is a topical fungal infection that is mostly caused during summer with high temperature and humid climate. Jock itch can be seen as ring-shaped rashes with/without blisters around it and it occurs more in males than females.

Individual who has athlete’s foot can spread this fungi from their feet to groin area. Also it is transmitted from other humans, animals and even soil.

Causes of Jock Itch :-

  • Excessive sweating
  • Obesity
  • Physical activites that cause excessive sweating
  • Diabetes
  • Male gender
  • Poor hygiene
  • Tight fitted clothing
  • Genetic predisposition

Symptoms of Jock Itch :-

  • Burning sensation
  • Persistent itching
  • Red colour
  • It may be either flat or elavated
  • Flaking, peeling and cracking skin
  • Outer edge may contain small vesicles

Preventive Methods Against Jock Itch :-

  • Maintain personal hygiene
  • Try to remian dry
  • Wear neat, loose and dry underwears
  • Apply talcum powder after drying

Home Remedies to Treat Jock Itch Fastly :-

  • Coconut Oil: Its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties helps to reduce infection. Apply it on the affected area and leave it over night. Do this regularly for 1-2weeks.
  • Turmeric: The antiseptic properties helps to cure the infection. Powdered turmeric can be applied on the affected area and then leave it for half an hour, after that wash it off with water. Repeat this twice a day.
  • Baking Soda: Mix half teaspoon of baking soda with water and apply it. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash it off. Repeat this few times a day.
  • Neem Leaves: Neem leaves contain antiseptic properties. Boil 3 cup of water with 10-15 bitter neem leaves until the quantity of water becomes half. Wash the affected area with this water.
  • Salt Water: Fill the bath tub with warm water and salt. Then sit in this water for 15-20 minutes.
  • Aloevera: Apply aloevera gel on the affected area(might have small pain at starting).
