Home Remedy For Itchy Skin – Itchy skin, medically known as Pruritus is an irritating sensation that makes you feel uncomfortable and leads you want to scratch the skin. It is caused due to dry skin or allergic reactions on skin and can last for weeks or more. It is a common symptom in many skin diseases. Pruritus can be so painful and could spread from one part of the body to several areas.

There are mainly two types of Pruritus :

  1. Pruritus from skin disease: Persons with this type are the patients who have itching due to skin disease or rashes. They show some signs of inflammation in their skin like rednesss, scratches, etc.
  2. Pruritus from another causes: Person with this type, faces itching due to other causes like cancer, thyroid without having a skin disease. So person having this type should seek medical assistance as soon as possible.

Home Remedy For Itchy Skin :-

The important thing to remember is don’t scratch when you feel itching. Eventhough it will give an instant relief, it really worsens the itching and leads to the spreading to more parts.

There are many medications and creams to prevent itchy skins. Also type-1 pruritus can be treated naturally. Here we are sharing a few of them that can be easily done at home.

  • Take some lemon juice and apply it on the affected area with dry hand. Let it dry and wash it off with cold water. Do this twice a week.
  • Boil some tulsi leaves in water and let it cool. Take a white soft cotton towel and dip it in this water. Apply it in the affected area and let it dry. Rinse it off with water. Do it daily.
  • Rub a little coconut oil directly to the affected area.
  • Pour a few drops of apple cider vinegar in a cotton ball and put it on the affected area.
  • Place a cube of ice or cold pack or cold glass of water to the area that is itching.
  • Apply some petroleum gel on the affected area and leave it over night. Then wash it with luke warm water in the morning.
